Steel goes Pro - the World Championship bike for ambitious gravel racing
First of all: Former MTB pro Torsten Marx was the only starter at the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships in Italy on a steel frame with the GX-1600. Here you can see the original World Championship bike! So if you find a little dirt or small imperfections in the paintwork on the bike photos, you now know why. Despite crashing in the first third of the 169 km long World Championship course, Torsten Marx finished in 14th place and was the best German in his age group.
With a weight of around 8 kg, the top gravel model GX-1600 is the absolute non-plus-ultra bike for ambitious professionals and all those who want to become one. With a hand-built steel frame, high-end carbon components and rims from Schmolke and the SRAM RED XPLR eTap AXS, 12-speed groupset, a Columbus Futura Cross Carbon fork or ceramic bearings in DTSwiss hubs, we have completed a pro's wish list.
The frame was designed with lightweight construction in mind so that it can only be equipped with a "wireless gearshift". There are no eyelets for cables, nor is internal routing provided.
The choice of components shows impressively that the GX-1600 will also be "at home on the road" in the race sport.

SRAM Red XLPR AXS
Der 1x12-fach SRAM Red XPLR Antriebsstrang ist gewichtsoptimiert – mit Carbon-Kurbelarmen, leichtgängigen Keramiklagern und 10-44-Kassette.
Die eTap Schaltlogik ist einfach: Auf der einen Seite hoch, auf der anderen runter. Dank AXS ist die Verkabelung hinfällig, mit der AXS App kann das Schaltverhalten an verschiedene Anforderungen angepasst werden.
Schmolke TLO Laufrad
The Lightest One – der ultraleichte High End Carbon-Laufradsatz wird in Konstanz mehrschichtig von Hand gebaut. Er punktet mit Top-Performance, Stabilität und Langlebigkeit.
Der Laufradsatz bringt inklusive DT Swiss 180 CL-Naben mit Keramiklagern nur etwa 1.300 g auf die Waage.
Lightweight Stahlrahmen
Der filigrane Stahlrahmen wird in feinster Handwerkskunst hergestellt und ist aufgrund seiner Konstruktion ausschließlich für „Wireless-Schaltungen“geeignet.
So entsteht ein extrem leichter, stabiler und renntauglicher Stahlrahmen – Garant für das Bike-Gesamtgewicht von nur 8,5 kg bei einer Rahmenhöhe von 54 cm.

Als einziger Teilnehmer auf einem Stahlrahmen hat sich Ex-MTB-Profi Torsten Marx mit dem GX-1600 trotz heftigem Sturz auf der UCI Gravel WM-Strecke (169 km) zurück unter die Besten gekämpft.
Und so wurde unser lieber Kollege WM-14ter und bester Deutscher im Feld der 120 Fahrer seiner Altersklasse.
